Lichen's sclerosis has many symptoms that mimic HPV or vulvar vestibulitis. The symptoms of LS are thinning skin, white patches of skin, itching and/or burning, painful sexual intercourse, and sores or lesions resulting from scratching. LS is not caused by a virus, bacteria, or fungus -- but is instead something else entirely. Lichen's sclerosis has many symptoms that mimic HPV or vulvar vestibulitis.

HPV, Vulvar

An increased risk of developing vulval or penile cancer is associated with this infection. If left untreated, LS can result in fusing of the skin, atrophy, and narrowing of the vagina. The most common misdiagnosis for LS is a yeast infection; other misdiagnoses include herpes or a bacteria infection. Lichen's sclerosis has many symptoms that mimic HPV or vulvar vestibulitis.
